How to Monitor and Improve your Search Engine

With all those new home based businesses coming up
lately, it is no miracle that most of them are
focussing on their rankings in the search engines
to get their share of the "free traffic". Although,
many of those search engines have already changed
to a pay per listing/submission based system. But
enough of them are still free.
Let the Battle begin ...
Once you have achieved a top spot ranking that will
bring you a steady stream of targeted traffic, the
battle for keeping up your position will begin....
Others will try to copy your keywords/meta tags and
even your keyword density to take over your position
at the top. But what if you haven't achieved any
high positions, yet ? How do you get to the top ?
The first thing you should do is to optimize your
site for the search engines. Then you'll have to
submit your URLs to those search engines and after
a few weeks, you'll have to monitor your rankings
to see if you're already listed with them and which
positions you have achieved for your main keywords.
1.) Software You Can Use To Monitor Your Rankings
It might be easy to monitor your rankings if you
have just one keyword expression/URL . But if you
have more than 5 URLs which you have to monitor in
the search engines, it can become a day filling
task. At least, if you're doing this by hand and
enter those keywords into the search form.

you which can automate this tedious and time

of code to achieve those desired high rankings.

must have tool if you want to play the search
engines' game...
- AgentWebRanking 2.5 :
Another program which can be used just for
monitoring your rankings is called AgentWebRanking
2.5 and can be used freely in a so called Light
Edition. The Pro version is recommended if you want
to be able to export your results into *.csv files
or *.htm files and then save them . It will also
give you a performance report which is not created
in the Light Edition.

AgentWebRanking does emulate a manual search
through each search engine. It really works like
if you were manually checking your position. This
is why Agentwebranking does produce reliable and
accurate ranking reports. Software that automatically
check ranking (basic data request) without emulating
a manual search cannot provide an accurate ranking
report.
